Nick Uricchio is a democrat running for State House to bring common sense and practical solutions back to state government.
He will reject political extremism, dangerous rhetoric, and performative grandstanding that are poisoning our politics, and instead focus on getting real work done for our community.
Nick will prioritize the issues that matter most to local families, deliver top-notch constituent service, and fight to protect our coastline while improving the overall livability of the Lowcountry.
As our voice in the State House, Nick will focus on:
- Securing increased state infrastructure funding to improve roads and bridges and ease traffic congestion
- Mitigating flooding and strengthening drainage systems to protect neighborhoods and homes
- Standing up to irresponsible development that worsens traffic and strains local infrastructure
- Tackling the affordability crisis by pursuing creative, local solutions wherever possible
- Supporting law enforcement officers and first responders who keep our communities safe
- Re-establishing reproductive freedoms, because these decisions should be made by women and their doctors—not politicians or the government.
- Advocating for strong public schools and standing with teachers
- Defending democracy at every level while firmly opposing authoritarianism and unconstitutional legislation
About Nick
Nick Uricchio is a lifelong James Island and Folly Beach resident and a proud graduate of James Island High School. He earned his undergraduate degree from Coastal Carolina University and his law degree from Charleston School of Law. A third-generation attorney, Nick follows in the footsteps of his grandfather, the late Paul “Pope” Nicholas Uricchio Jr., and his father, the late Michael A. Uricchio Sr.
In 2019, Nick joined the Ninth Circuit Solicitor’s Office in Charleston County as an Assistant Solicitor, where he worked to hold violent offenders accountable and help keep our community safe. In May 2023, he joined Query, Sautter & Uricchio, LLC, focusing on helping everyday people navigate difficult legal situations.
Nick is a devoted dog owner, music lover, and fan of stand-up comedy and NASCAR. He and his wife, Morgan, live on James Island and are proud, active members of the community.
